Tools & Resources
Great ideas don’t arise from splendid isolation. Structure and creativity combined however, lead to impactful result.
Antwerp based product development company Studio Dott has developed a 7-step methodology to formulate, structure, share and challenge your ideas to evaluate how IoT technologies will strengthen them.
In these pages you will find templates and tutorials so you can use this great toolset, even before the event.
Access to the Proximus IoT network
The new Proximus IoT network is a new LPWAN network that co-exists with the operators’ fixed and mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G). It is based on the LoRa technology.
LoRa is a long range – low power radio protocol where devices send a limited data set at predefined times. Those devices are not equipped with a SIM card and are typically battery operated.
Low energy consumption is a prerequisite for IoT services and products as batteries should last typically for a period of minimum 5 and up to 10 years.
AllThingsTalk IoT Prototyping (Sensors, Computer, IoT Network access, prototyping platform)
All participating teams will get an AllThingsTalk LoRa Rapid Development Kit. This prototyping tool includes an Arduino computer, a LoRa microchip with U.Fl connector and a set of 10 sensors.
The LoRa connector will enable you to seamlessly connect with the Proximus IoT Network and discover the power of its capabilities to deploy your IoT products.
Next to the hardware and connectivity, the Kit includes access to AllThingsTalk IoT Prototyping Platform to enable you to quickly connect your devices and develop interaction between them and the Web Services of your choice using the powerful rules wizard included in the platform.
Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing platform that allows you to build, deploy and manage applications and services through a global network of Microsoft data centers. It provides both PaaS and IaaS services and supports many different programming languages, tools and frameworks, including both Microsoft-specific and third-party software and systems.
Proximus has built an LoRa Azure connector that allows you to integrate a cloud-backend for devices and applications that are built for the Proximus IoT network. This connector gives you access to cloud-based services for data capture and analysis such as Azure Event hubs.
Business Model Generation
To develop an innovative service or product is great. To address a well defined buyer audience with a clear value proposition even better.
You will be able to use the Business Model Canvas developed by Strategyzer to help you define the go-to-market strategy for your newly developed product.
Professional coaches and product specialists
All organising partners of Hack-A-Post will be present during the two days of the event. Product specialist, developers and coaches from bpost, Proximus, Microsoft, AllThingsTalk and Studio Dott will be glad to support you with hands-on assistance when needed.
